Tramshed sees Mark Hix go back to a neighbourhood he has a close connection with. ‘I’ve always been extremely fond of the building ever since I moved into Great Eastern Street some ten years ago. It’s been a long term mission of mine to do something with the building and I am thrilled to finally be in a position to create something really exciting here.’
The famous tramshed building on Garden Walk and Rivington Street was designed by Vincent Harris and built in 1905 as an electricity generating facility for the Tramway System.
Having lived in Shoreditch for many years, Mark is keen to create something that will work in harmony with the local community.
